About the event

Join us for a powerful day of music, dance, food, and community as we honor the brave workers who lost their lives during the Port Pidjiguiti Massacre—an act of resistance that sparked Guinea-Bissau’s War of Independence. This commemorative event is a vibrant celebration of Bissau-Guinean heritage, cultural resilience, and the unbreakable spirit of our ancestors. Enjoy performances by Domingo Broska, traditional cultural dancers, and more as we reflect, remember, and rejoice together. Come stand in solidarity and experience the richness of our shared history and the strength of our community.
